Stakeholders: Grassroots communities and their organisations, including family farmers and other vulnerable groups such as youth, women, migrants, and herders. Communities' high councils, national ministries and technical services responsible for agriculture, land issues, decentralisation, and the environment.
In this initiative, the National Coordinating Body of Peasant Organisations in Mali (CNOP) builds on the achievements and lessons learnt of the pilot project implemented in Mali between 2015 and 2017.
This project will continue to contribute to achieving the 2015 Accord for Peace and Reconciliation by addressing land conflict, a root cause of the armed conflict in Mali. It will also support the implementation of Mali’s Agricultural Land Law (LFA), enacted in 2017. The LFA recognises the customary land rights of communities and family farmers, which can be secured through village land commissions (COFO).
